About me
Hi! Well, I am of a thin build, & am about 5' 10" ish. I have dark blonde hair, and a mixture of blue/green/brown eyes! (you'll understand what I mean if you gever got to look into them closely!! (hint hint! lol! ;) ) I have done a Masters degree in Town Planning, & am currently looking for a job-I work part-time as a bar man at the moment. As there doesn't seem to be many Planning jobs going, I am looking for other jobs now as well!! I did a Geography degree originally. I went travelling to Australia for a year with a friend - had a fantastic time. We managed to drive all the way round! I enjoy going for walks, going to the pub with friends, listening to music & writing songs (I play the bass guitar in a band, we're called The Idles (check us out!), we've been gigging around Manchester for the last year). About me
- Where I liveI live in a place called Greenfield, in Saddleworth, which is part of Oldham, near Manchester. Saddleworth is an area of many parishes and villages on the western side of the Pennines. Not much goes on here, but its a tranquil place in the countryside, and I wouldn't change living here for anything... well, unless I was offered the chance to move to Australia...
- Do you want to stay there?In time, although I do love Greenfield and Saddleworth, I would like to move abroad - hopefully to Australia, but not until I've got a job and been settled in it for a good few years. I would also like to move to Cornwall. Maybe if my band makes it big, I could have many houses all around the world!!
- What is your occupation?I've just finished my Masters degree in Town Planning, and am currently looking for and applying for Town Planning jobs, at local councils around Greater Manchester. I do work part-time as a bar man in a pub/restaurant near to where I live.
- What have you done so far?I've been to uni, I've worked behind a bar for 5 years, and I've travelled round Australia for a year.
- What are your future plans?To get a Town Planning job, and then hopefully move to Australia and live and work over there, or do well in my band and go on tours around the world, buy houses around the world, etc.. I'd like to settle down with a girl sometime soon as well.
- Your perfect partnerA non-smoker is a must! Blonde or brunette - doesn't matter, so long as they have a nice smile. I go for slim to average-build girls. And I prefer quieter girls, rather than loud and in-your-face type of girls.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?I love music - most types, but my favourite is Indie. I play the bass guitar in an Indie band. I also enjoy writing songs. I like going for walks, going to the pub with friends, watching TV, and I like football, cricket, rugby and F1, although I don't play sports anymore, I just watch (unless you include playing with my nephews in the garden!). I wouldn't mind taking up Badminton sometime.
- MusicI like most types of music, except that really heavy metal and that trancey/dancey, repetitive stuff. I prefer Indie music. My favourite bands are The Beatles, Queen, Supergrass, The Coral, Oasis, The Feeling, Madness, Jet, Feeder, Snow Patrol, Coldplay - the list goes on and on, really...
- Your fav tv seriesI like those comedy TV quiz shows, such as 8 out of 10 cats, have I got news for you, never mind the buzzcocks - those sort of things. I also enjoy watching the soaps, documentaries, films and sport. And cartoons - Dangermouse and Wacky Races are legendary!
- Your fav books/authorsI generally read crime and horror/thriller books. Although I have recently been reading such things as The Da Vinci Code and re-reading classic childrens books such as Treasure Island and Gulliver's Travel's. I enjoy reading Ghost Stories, and books/magazines about Astronomy and Astrology. I also read music magazines such as Q, and NME.
- What sort of movies do you like?To be honest, I like any type of films. Comedies, Horrors, Action, even the old Western's, I don't mind.
- Types of people you like?I like someone who presents themselves as being warm and kind, and someone who is honest and trustworthy.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? What I find attractive is people who smile, have a nice figure, (not stick-thin, but slim to average build), and come across as vulnerable at times even if they do appear to be confident and full of life on the outside.
- FoodI like Italian. I like Indian. I like Chinese. I like good old English food. I like most things, really. The only thing I really do not like at all is any type of Fish.
- DrinksI enjoy going out to the pub with friends - but, I don't go out all that often. I usually go out at weekends, but recently its not been every weekend. As for what drinks I like - I generally drink pints of lager, and then towards the end of the night I go on the shorts - my favourites being JD and coke, and dark rum and coke, although I do drink others sometimes.
- HolidaysWhen I go on holiday I like to be able to relax around the pool, more than on the beach. I'm not one for activity holidays, and I'm not really a very confident swimmer either, so don't go swimming very often. I'd like to be able to go out to different bars and clubs at night, and go visiting different places during the day (either by walking, or catching a bus or train). I'd like to go on a cruise one day.
- PetsI like cats and dogs. The dogs have to be cute though - like labradors or golden retrievers or cocker spaniels, not big dogs like boxer dogs or rottweilers or alsations. I don't have any pets at this moment in time though.
- Fav thingEither my new mobile phone, my bass guitar, or my 8-track home recording studio which I have just recently bought.
My attitude
- Family lifeI'm not religious, so I don't believe I have to marry. At this stage in my life, I don't want to get married anyway. I do want to find a partner, and maybe have a family, but just not necessarily get married. Especially in this day and age anyway, when so many marriages end in divorce! You can still have a family, and live a family life without getting married.
- Jobs&WorkingWhen I get a Town Planning job, it will be something I will enjoy. I enjoy my part-time bar work, but I know that it is just for the money, at this stage. Once I get a proper job, I will want to become successful and hope to earn enough money to be able to enjoy a good lifestyle.
- MoneyMoney means a lot to me. I have always been money-minded, and sensible with my money. I know that if I want something decent, I have to pay for it - having a well-paid job would help, but working part-time means I have to save up and budget. I would like to have lots of money. Its always been my dream to be a millionaire!
