Zatan (35) from Manchester, England, near Bolton
About me
I'm pretty diverse - love socialising , reading, going to exhibitions, art and sculpture, meals out, beer, cooking, watching films, walking, discussing stuff, bi activism, being creative (writing, looking at sculpting, fiddling with computers and suchlike). As of late, still doing yoga and also looking after the new Kittens of Cuteness. I am bisexual and monogamous, but I generally prefer women. Tasty, sensitive men also considered ;). The first thing people notice about me is my sheer presence, and the way they are drawn to offering me a drink, secret missions and large quantities of unmarked cash in suitcases.. My friends think I'm outgoing but not in your face, thoughtful and surprising. Are you interested and interesting? Able to debate, but also be silly? Drop me a line if so!

About me
- Where I liveI'm close to the countryside, but Manchester is a half an hour train journey away. Being able to be on the moors in a few minutes walk or drive is splendid.
- Do you want to stay there?I'm not sure where else I'd stay.. it'd have to be fairly close to the countryside and within traveling distance of a large city, which limits me to Manchester, Edinburgh and Leeds basically (London is too urban and expensive)
- What is your occupation?Professional silicon fettler and tamer
- What are your future plans?Be more creative, contribute more to the community, go to new places, find new experiences and do the boring crap like pay off the mortgage.
- Your perfect partnerDrew Barrymore, Brad Pitt, David Tennant or Clare Grogan. Unfortunately given that this is a bit unrealistic - someone with the same sense of humour, who is monogamous, doesn't have/want children, doesn't smoke or take drugs, likes cats, ideally doesn't have dogs, isn't a Tory, isn't obsessed with celebrities or soaps, can spell without using txt spk and preferably doesn't give a stuff about football.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?Yoga. Walking. Reading. Computer stuff. Bi activism. Films. Sculpting. Going out for drinks/clubs/museums/art galleries/gigs etc.
- MusicLots. Pop. Rock. Blues. Classical. Opera.
- Your fav tv seriesI don't generally watch TV. I slightly miss watching Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Still watch Doctor Who (although Torchwood sucked a bit) and have the Life on Mars series 1 DVD boxset to work through, plus Blackadder 4 to rewatch again.. Throw in most of the rest of Blackadder, Red Dwarf up to the beginning of series 7, Coupling, Monty Python, the Fast Show and a few other bits.
- Your fav books/authorsRobin Hobb. Clive Barker. Various classics. Neil Gaiman. Peter F Hamilton. Melanie Rawn. Lots of stuff really.
- What sort of movies do you like?" This is important if you should go to the movies on the first date..." No one should go to a movie on the first date as you don't get to know someone, but anyway - lots. Drama, action, sci fi, comedy etc. Catch Me If You Can. Batman Begins. Gosford Park. Brazil. Pan's Labyrinth. 12 Monkeys. Room with a View. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
- Types of people you like? This is starting to get a bit specific, and my urge to start posting cynical and/or flippant answers is increasing. Types of people - ones that aren't unstable basically, or who are mad in the right way rather than oh so wrong. As long as you're not unwilling to discuss things, are fairly liberal, will not make large assumptions about the way people should behave or live, play silly power games or assume that one person should always do the chasing or fit around the other's life we'll get along fine.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? "Or does the outer appearance of a person mean nothing to you? Be honest..." aha. Let's do a Kryten <lie mode=on> Why no, outer appearance has no effect whatsoever on me </lie mode> or a Lister 'a big titted brunette with a brewery, please' The reality is somewhere between the two. Yes, I have preferences, no they're not set in stone as the overall package is really the important thing. To state the bloody obvious, the better your personality, intellect and interest is the less I'll be worried about appearance. However, ultimately I do have to fancy someone, or think I could grow to fancy them.
- FoodLots. English. Indian. Thai. Chinese. Vegan. Have been spending the past few months going around lots of restaurants in Manchester with friends, which is jolly good fun.
- DrinksBeer (real ale)/wine/lager basically. A certain amount of social lubrication is always good; don't tend to drink at home though.
- PetsCats. and kittens, and cats again. I will be getting two kittens at some point soon. I'm really not a fan of dogs; they're sort of acceptable if they're very well trained, but I loathe big boisterous dogs and will actively avoid going out with someone if they have them. On the other hand if you have cats, this is a definite bonus.
My attitude
- Family life"Do you want to have a traditional family?" No. Really, really, no. I don't have a problem with having long term relationships, but I absolutely do not want children and will never, ever, get married in a church. If you're looking for conventional gender role relationships the door is that way, too.
- PoliticsI'm not party political, but I do keep an eye on what's going on. At times you do have to stand up for the causes you believe in..
